LIST OF PROGRAMS - BE SURE TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT ONE BASED ON BEING FOR BOYS OR GIRLS AND THE CORRECT GRADE.

PART 1 - ONLY FOR BOYS 7TH GRADE

As we review adding other grades, as of now we will only be offering a "Select" Program for 7th Grade Boys.

We believe that as families seek alternatives to over priced other programs that Mavericks will have the opportunitiy to add other grades.  That said, this year we are only offering a Boys "Select" Team (most advanced players drwan from neighboring towns

Mavericks, prides itself on being possibly one of the best in NJ at a cost of less than half of others (we are a non-for profit, and can afford to offer more for less.... the way we think youth sports should be run).  This year in order to maintain the competitive quality of our Teams, we will only be offering this to 7th Grade Boys. In order to make 7th Grade Select you need to confidently consider yourself an Advanced Player...then...First - Register your interest to attend our Tryout in Mid Feb to Early March.  There is no charge for the indication of interest.  Once we then have ehough interest, we will contact you to go to the web site and pay for the Trout (cost $65 for the Tryouts - up to 1-3 days, weather dependent).  Then Second - you need to be selected (only most advanced players are selected). Once selected, you will be emailed a link to register and pay an amount TBD for the regular Spring Season (we are currently calculating the cost based on tournaments (last year it was $395). Those who do not make it, you will still receive good value at the Tryout for $65 and learn a lot of lacrosse.

Boys - All Other Grades and skill levels:

Stay tuned, for possibly future offerings.  Again as of now we are only offering 7th Grade Boys Select (no other Boys or Girl Programs).

Part 3

GENERAL INFO ABOUT HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE Boys 7th GRADE 2021 SELECT SPRING PROGRAM:

Refunds - No refunds for the $65 Tryout cost. If then chosen for the Select Team, the payment for such ($395 last year) will be fully refunded, net of internet service charges, within the first 2 weeks after date a player's program starts (no refunds after that period).

Registering:

Many programs, especially the for-profit ones, will over book kids into their programs.  When our programs fill-up we reserve the right to shut down registration.  Having the correct number of coaches and players allows for the best experience.

1) When registering be sure you put the info of your child and not you (we often end up with 40 year old players)

2) Be sure you register for the correct Boys or Girl's Program.  Every year we end up with a few misplaced Boys and Girls.

3) Nearly all players who play in the US, are required to be members of the US Lacrosse Association.  Our program automatically checks if your child is a member, or if you have to join them or renew (their membership is good for one year).  If you need to join or renew, our program automatically kicks you over to their site, where you will register or renew and pay by credit card.  It will then kick you back to our site where you will resume to register with us and pay for us.  When going through this, note that a) after you register or renew with US Lacrosse and pay them (about $35), you are not done and have to finish registering with us.  We often have people thinking that it cost $35 to join our program.  Note that by joining US Lacrosse you are obtaining insurance on your child, you can participate in third party camps and clinics around the US year round, and you get 4 lacrosse magazines b) the info you fill out about your child at our site has to be exactly the same as at US Lacrosse.  We often have people that claim that they registered for US Lacrosse and our program can not confirm such because they typed their child's name differently at one verses the other.

5) If you are having problems it is usually because of the following: a) you registered info on yourself instead of your child; b) the program can not confirm you are a US Lacrosse member because you have a typo in their info that makes it different than what you listed with us; c) you put dashes or spaces in your credit card number (no dashes or spaces); d) your settings on your computer are set wrong (try from a different computer). If all else fails you can then contact me - Ron Gale,

We only have about 5 issues per year..so it should for nearly all go quite smoothly.

Welcome to the Maverick Family

all best

Mavericks Spring 2021 Tryouts - Boys - 7th Grade

Who can/should participate - This is only for Boys that in Spring of 2021 are in the 7th grade, and who wish at this time  to provide an "indication of interest" to "Tryout" for our Spring Program (to be held in Mid Feb to early March...depending on field conditions and COVID State Guidelines.  No payment is required from you at this time.  Once we have enough indications of interest, we will contact you to then go on-line and pay

As the Tryout will be a clinic format, it is a good training session for those considering the sport. Within a week following the Tryout, we will send out emails inviting chosen players to the Select Team. Players not chosen, may have the opportunity to play for the lower skilled MLA Program (discussed once you click Registration Button on the Home Page).

You need to indicate your interest to attend the Tryout to a) be invited to later register and pay for such Tryout and b) after attending the Tryout to be invited on to an advanced Select Team.

Tryout Cost - Again you are only indicating your interest now.  Once we have enough interest, we will provide you with an email and link to pay $65 for the Tryout/per child. This is what you would pay for a 1 day Tryout

Date of Tryout (s), subject to weather and field conditions (usually Mid Feb or Beginning of March).  We will keep you updated (dependent on weather, access to fields, and Covid State Regs)

What to bring - boys need stick, cup/supporter, mouth guard, helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads. You can purchase all equip at discount at Universal Lacrosse in Freehold (reference - Mavericks).  Their link is on our "Link Tab". It may be cold, so be prepared to wear warm under cloths.

Value Proposition of the Spring Program:

- More than anything our coaches, played lacrosse and have a passion for the sport and coaching. Most of our Head Coaches have been with us for a minimum of 5 years (this is not a program with turnover in coaches)
- Safety - we have defibrillators on the field, and are properly insured (be sure to inquire about other programs you are considering)
- Kids practice on some of the nicest fields
- We may offer camps, clinics, summer league, private lessons (look for postings)
